Sunflower Power
What parts make up a plant, and how do plants grow? Students will act out the life cycle of a sunflower, dissect seeds, and make a seedy sunflower craft. They’ll also take a walk to Emily’s Play Garden, stopping along the way to say hello to the Arboretum’s goat herd. In the garden, they’ll plant, water, or weed, depending on the season. Garden songs and stories will add to the learning experience. (NGSS LS1-1 and LS4-1.)
