Jim Rehak
Jim Rehak’s interest in art started with comic book illustration at an early age. It was while studying for his BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art that his interest in oil painting emerged. At that time his summers were spent sketching portraits and caricatures on the Ocean City , MD boardwalk…honing his drawing skills. The urgency necessary for quick sketches was also necessary for his plein air paintings when constantly adjusting to changing light. Jim spent many years as art director for a sign company…which often depended on facility with brushes and paint. Plein air painting was also part of the mix . Jim steadily participates in paint outs and Plein air competitions as well as being represented by various fine art galleries He’s won many Plein air painting awards in Maryland and Delaware.
