Heidi Huett
Heidi Denison Huett is an Ellicott City, Maryland-based artist who paints both en plein air and in the studio. She paints primarily in oils, but is also experienced with watercolors, acrylics, and has created murals in public spaces. Huett is largely artistically self-taught and a product of workshop participation. She surrounds herself with fellow artists and loves learning and sharing ideas with those holding similar passions for making beautiful artwork. Huett has always been highly creative. She served in the U.S. Army as a photojournalist and has more than 40-years of painting experience. As a lover of the outdoors, Heidi paints all subjects found in nature. The emotion of early-day light skimming across a beautiful landscape is something that simply can’t be outdone, according to Huett. She maintains that interesting and captivating compositions can be found across a wide range of subjects from a close-up image of a leaf and shadow to a far-away vista of mountains. Creating a dynamic image is all in seeing unique patterns of light contained in nature and bringing them to life on the canvas. Her recent style can be described as impressionistic-realism while older pieces are highly realistic. Visit HDHuettart.com to view Huett’s portfolio.
