Join Underground Railroad historian and Rooted Wisdom project collaborator Anthony Cohen for a guided tour at the Arboretum.
Explores the lives of freedom seekers through the Arboretum's restored landscape. A historian and president of the Menare Foundation, Anthony Cohen previously retraced 1,200 miles of this history by foot, rail, and boat. He narrates and guides viewers in Rooted Wisdom: Nature's Role in the Underground Railroad, a documentary film that will premiere in March 2022. The film was produced by Adkins Arboretum and Schoolhouse Farmhouse Studio in collaboration with Cohen.
On the tour, he will discuss methods freedom seekers used for concealment, nourishment, and evasion while escaping enslavement.
