Naomi McCafferty, Horticulturist
Completing her degree in horticulture from UMASS Amherst, Naomi promptly co-founded a garden center and a design-build landscape company in Hockessin, Delaware. She received numerous awards for her distinctive landscape designs and creative installations.
After two decades of a thriving independent business, she transitioned to public gardens as nursery manager at Longwood Gardens where she focused on growing healthy plants for seasonal displays and permanent installation in the gardens.
Making the Eastern Shore her full-time home in 2020 and wanting to incorporate additional native plants on her property, including the shoreline, Naomi recognized the extensive resources found at Adkins Arboretum. She currently assists at the Arboretum with the Native Plant Sales and “Parking Lot Alive” bed maintenance.
