Ginna Tiernan—Executive Director
Ginna has worked at the Arboretum since 2009, first as Adult Program Coordinator, then as Acting Executive Director, and, since October 2016, as Executive Director. With more than three decades of distinguished achievement in natural resource management, land conservation, program development, community outreach, volunteer management, and grant administration, she facilitates all facets of the Arboretum’s operations, including staff and financial management, fundraising, programming, facilities, and natural resources.
Before moving to Maryland in 2005, she spent nearly twenty years with the Parks Department of Georgia’s largest county. After arriving in Maryland, she worked for the Department of Natural Resources, managing the Southern Region for the state’s acquisition program.
Ginna holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an Associate of Science in architecture from Mercer County Community College.
